Our Parish sends its warmest regards and congratulations to our brothers and sisters at El Sedeaq Heidelberg Mosque on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. We sincerely thank Sheikh Alaa El Zokm - Imam of the El Sedeaq Mosque, Dr Waled Shihata - President of the El Sedeaq Islamic Society and many others who continue to uphold the strong relationship that began many decades ago by the late Fr Victor Rophael OAM.
Over the last month there were many Holy occasions that both our faiths celebrated and through love, unity and respect each supported and congratulated the other.
Tuesday 12 April | Fr George Farag and Zac Traversa were invited to represent our Parish at the Annual Community Iftar Dinner attended by people of many faiths and organisations including His Excellency Yasser Hashem, Consul General of the Egyptian Consulate in Melbourne.
Saturday 23 April | Sheikh Alaa El Zokm - Imam of the El Sedeaq Mosque, Dr Waled Shihata - President of the El Sedeaq Islamic Society together with other representatives of El Sedeaq Mosque attended the Feast of the Resurrection Liturgy to congratulate our church and congregation on the Feast.
Monday 2 May | Fr George Farag together with representatives of our Parish attended the Eid al-Fitr celebrations at El Sedeaq Mosque to congratulate them on the occasion. Her Excellency Dr Marwa Mahmoud, Consul of the Egyptian Consulate in Melbourne was in attendance.
We pray that Christ continues to bless this relationship with peace, love and unity!
