Through the grace and blessings of God, the St Marks Lion’s descended upon Burnside Camp Anglesea with an unmistakable roar, from 17-19 December, marking the beginning of an unforgettable Youth Camp 2023. In this recount of the youth camp, we'll take you through the inspiring moments, exciting activities, and the profound sense of togetherness that defined this incredible experience.

The camp kicked off with a special blessing as Fr Michael Salib graced us with his presence on Friday night. His talk delved into the profound question of "Who is the I AM?" and how this revelation is a constant thread woven throughout the Bible. His words echoed a call to praise Him, setting the tone for a spiritually enriching experience.

The second day commenced bright and early with a beautiful Divine Liturgy that brought everyone together in a spirit of unity and devotion. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Abanoub Morcos for sharing his wisdom through an inspiring talk, adding depth to the communal experience.

The camp included a whirlwind of activities, from the classic Hungry Hippos to the iconic Priest of the Parish. However, the undisputed highlight was "THE HUNT." In a gripping scenario, Mina Tadros was ‘kidnapped’, prompting the participants to embark on a thrilling quest. Clues scattered around the campsite led us on an exhilarating journey to rescue him.

As the sun set, Burnside Camp underwent a magical transformation into a mini Cairo during our Arabian Night. In a matter of seconds, the campsite was adorned with the vibrant spirit of an exotic evening, creating an atmosphere of enchantment and camaraderie.

Ultimately, St Marks Youth Camp emerged as a resounding success. The love shared among the youth was palpable, fostering a deep sense of connection and understanding. As we reflect on these shared moments, it's evident that we all grew closer together, united by our collective journey around Christ.

The echoes of the St Marks Lion’s roar may have faded at Burnside Camp, but the memories of this youth camp will forever resonate in our hearts. It was a time of spiritual enlightenment, exhilarating adventures, and the forging of lasting bonds through Christ. #stmarkscocmelb
